President’s Letter

Welcome!

“Autumn is a second Spring when every leaf is a flower.”

Even though sunny days are dwindling and cloudy skies are becoming the norm, I do hope that you are enjoying the increased number of events and activities on offer, as we head into the second half of the year.

It’s also time to nominate two new charities for 2023, one in Belgium and one from a developing country, so please do let us know your choice by completing the online nomination form here before 4 November.

And if you are looking to get more involved in the Club, three new volunteer positions have just opened up:

– Passport Editor: Sheila E is looking for someone to take over, so if you enjoy writing, editing and collecting interesting articles for our monthly magazine, then this is your dream job!  You will be supported by Doreen B, our Passport layout editor, and our monthly article contributors.
– Library Coordinator: Caroline vdM is stepping down in December, after having been in this role for many years. The hours are flexible, on-the-job training will be provided and support is provided by a small friendly team.
– Charity Coordinator(s): our dynamic duo Andrea F and Gill B, after two years of intense fundraising, are also stepping down in December. So if you enjoy organising and making a difference in the lives of those in need, this job has your name on it!

If you’re interested in any of the above roles, or in fact in any other roles on our ‘Get Involved’ web page here, please email me. I would love to connect with you and find out what you might enjoy doing!

Happy reading!

PS: Please send your articles and/or photos to Passport Editor Sheila E at editor@brusselswomens.club before Monday 24 October.

PS nr 2: If you are wondering why we only include the first letter of members’ last names in all of our articles, this is because we need to comply with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy. As Passport Magazine is available in PDF format, as requested by some of our members, GDPR has to be honoured.
