Tea and Talk Speakers Series – Songani Centre, Malawi
Come along to another fascinating (and tasty!) Tea & Talk at the Clubhouse and find out all about how Mbedza, a charity organisation in Malawi, is positively impacting the lives of women and girls.
BWC member Carol H will be sharing highlights of her extraordinary visit in April this year to the Songani Hope and Wellness Centre in Malawi, as well as other Mbedza charity projects.
Mbedza was one of the BWC Charities in 2022. BWC members’ generous donations contributed to the Songani Centre staff salaries. Founded by BWC member Sue B, the Songani Centre supports women and schoolgirls with free HIV testing and counselling, free washable sanitary kits that young women make themselves, a library, a kids’ corner, and a number of other initiatives.
Sue B, who is also the Associate Director of Mbedza, will be there with Carol to explain how Mbedza operates and the impact of the BWC charity support in 2022.
After the presentation, there will be time for a Q&A and of course, plenty of coffee, tea and home-made cakes to enjoy. Please make sure to visit our gift table with special crafts from Malawi.
