Wellbeing Workshop: Laughter Yoga (Zoom)
OPEN TO MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS
Did you know that by laughing, you can boost your mental and physical health? Laughter unwinds the negative effects of stress and strengthens your immune system. If you laugh every day, you will not fall sick easily.
Laughter is also a brilliant stress reliever because when we laugh, the brain produces neurotransmitters such as endorphine and dopamine which are our ‘feel well chemicals’. After you laugh, you are more prone to feel feelings of joy, happiness, excitement and connectedness.
Laughter Yoga was created by an Indian cardiologist called Madan Kataria in 1995. It is both preventive and therapeutic. It is like an aerobic exercise and cardio workout.
So boost your well-being by joining our 90-minute online session with Gabriela DSpencer, creator of The Laughter Room. Expect a fun and highly experiential session, with lots of laughter yoga exercises, breathing exercises, laughter meditation, to finally end with a guided relaxation meditation.
During and after the session:
- Your body will create endorphins, serotonin, dopamine and oxyotcin
- You will feel good, activated and then relaxed
- You will let go and experience a child-like playfulness
- You will experience positive emotions, such as joy or maybe gratitude and connection
