Join us for the second of many ‘concertinis’, a wonderful way to enjoy beautiful music while raising funds for the BWC Charities! It’s the best chamber music has to offer, every Friday afternoon at La Monnaie’s Grand Foyer.
If you are not sure about classical music or opera, this a great introduction to both. These mini concerts are really enjoyable and informative.
During this Concertini, we will hear two pieces by the Austrian composer and virtuoso pianist Johann Nepomuk Hummel (1778-1837). His music reflects the transition from the Classical to the Romantic musical era. He was a pupil of Mozart, Sallieri and Clementi, and also knew Beethoven and Schubert.
You are welcome to join us for (optional) lunch afterwards at 13:30 at the Cafe de la Opera, which is only a 2-minute walk away.
