Châteaux to Shelter Walk – River Ijse, Huldenberg
OPEN TO MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS
This year we have programmed 12 walks under the theme of Châteaux to Shelter.
Join us for the “Ijsewandeling” which passes Kasteel Huldenberg.
This is where the cultivation of the table grape was invented, leading to the massive glasshouse grape industry in the region. It’s a pretty, 8.5km walk, climbing up out of the Ijse valley over high fields and then back down along the Ijse river. Good walking shoes are recommended (field and riverside paths can get muddy).
There is a small restaurant (Taverne Rochus) on the square. and a bar at De Kronkel sports hall behind the Town Hall.
10.20 for a 10.30 departure from Gemeenteplein, 3040 Huldenberg. Park on the square, or there is lots of free parking behind the town hall (follow the signs for De Kronkel and Cultuurzaal Den Elsas).
To register, please email email@example.com at least 24 hours beforehand.
Why Châteaux to Shelter?
Both of our charities support the homeless — Rolling Douche for adults in Brussels and FACE for Egyptian street children. And as we are so lucky to have roofs over our heads plus the opportunity to visit many beautiful Châteaux in and around Brussels, it seemed an appropriate theme.
Do join in and help make a difference to the lives of people and whether walking or not, please donate to the Chateaux to Shelter walks here: https://brusselswomens.club/charities/.
