Dawn (1928)
A silent 1928 war film depicting the story of WWI martyr Edith Cavell, a nurse who risked her life helping over two hundred Allied soldiers escape from occupied Belgium. Her execution sparked an international outrage and Dawn, censored at the time, was one of the most controversial British films of the 1920s. The question then was: Is it anti-war more than anti-German?
Tickets are € 5 and on sale at Cinematek here. It is advisable to purchase a ticket (€ 5) as soon as possible, either online or at their ticket office at rue Baron Horta 9 (Bozar building).
Please meet at Cinématek’s ticket office 10-15 minutes before the film begins.
